Artist Fulfillment


These are all groups that we do web order fulfillment for - that is, we fill orders for them that come from their web site(s). For these web fulfillment products, the group gets $1 less than the retail price for each and every CD that they sell through our site.

"How does that work?" you might ask?
Here's how: For each fulfillment item we create a different SKU. We then "hide" these items, so they are not accessible by any organic searching that people might do on our site. We then give direct links to those products to the groups - they place these links on their site to provide fans a way to order online using a credit card. Whenever an order is completed through one of these links, the group gets all but $1 of the retail price. So on a $14.97 CD, the group would get paid $13.97 of that.

How often do groups get paid?
We do reports for all these fulfillment products every 60 days.

Why do it? Why pay so much?
We feel that the traffic generated by these fulfillment sales is well worth it; and since the groups are doing the marketing on *their* site, it's really not a lot of work for us. We're already shipping out stuff all over the world!

Is this the same as "affiliate marketing"?
Not really. These are targeted sales of just a few, specific titles. We are in the process of designing an actual "affiliate" program, where groups or web site owners get a percentage of ANY sales generated by traffic coming from their site.
