The Bobs

The Bobs are a four-person a cappella group known for their incredible live show, witty, tuneful original material and outrageous covers of classic songs. They were founded in 1981 when Matthew Stull and Gunnar Madsen, two refugees from a defunct singing telegram company, placed an ad in the Berkeley, California EXPRESS asking for a bass singer to join them in starting a "new wave a cappella group." Within the year, Janie Scott came aboard and the group - now known as The Bobs - landed a weekly spot in a jazz club. Their self-titled debut came out in 1983 and earned the group airplay and a Grammy nomination. The group has toured across the U.S. and Europe, and along the way collaborated with the ISO dance troupe (video available!). Their unique sense of humor has earned them innumerable fans over their 20 years of performing and recording.
