A-CAPPELLA.COM was founded in 1998 by Don Gooding, a lifelong a cappella singer, to bring the incredible diversity of vocal music to the global market. A-CAPPELLA.COM is the successor to the first-ever a cappella catalog (also founded by Don) which began in 1992. The mission now is the same as it was more than a decade ago: to inspire more people to sing, and to enjoy, a cappella music. On January 1, 2008 A-CAPPELLA.COM became A-CAPPELLA.COM, INC., when it was purchased by Doug Gray, an employee of A-Cappella.com.

Varsity Vocals, formerly a part of A-Cappella.com, is now owned by Amanda Newman.
Varsity Vocals focuses on student a cappella. It runs the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA), a popular series of contests in which more than 100 groups across North America vie for a spot in the finals in New York City. Varsity Vocals also produces the Best of College A Cappella (BOCA) and Best of High School A Cappella (BOHSA) compilation albums.
