The Persuasions


The Persuasions are one of the longest-lasting, most prolific a cappella groups around. Since their inception on the streets of Brooklyn, NY in 1961, they've gone on to inspire hundreds of imitators, record with many award-winning artists, be featured in movie soundtracks, and much, much more. While generally referred to as a "doo-wop" group, the Persuasions are so much more. A large percentage of their repertoire falls under the doo-wop umbrella, but they're just as comfortable in contemporary, gospel, Christmas or kids music! Longtime lead Jerry Lawson retired from the group in 2005.
