    Women's Groups


    All the groups in this department are made up solely of women. They may be singing in a language other than English, or singing a style or repertoire of music that is indigenous to one country or another. From the gentle, elegant simplicity of a single voice, like on Carol Ponder's albums, to the strident calls of the Balkan music made popular by Kitka, to women's and civil rights issues brought to the front lines by Sweet Honey in the Rock, there's something here for anyone who enjoys something a little "off the beaten path."
