    Yumiko Matsuoka Arrangements

Yumiko Matsuoka is currently an associate professor of ear training at Berklee College of Music in Boston. She has performed with a cappella vocal jazz quintet Vox One, who recorded many of her arrangements on their albums in the 1990s. Matsuoka has the ability to take a familiar tune (such as "Over the Rainbow" or "My Old Kentucky Home") and make it totally unique all over again, with her inventive use of rhythmic variance and harmonic tweaking. These are not easy arrangements, by any means, and do require an ensemble with some pretty solid skills to perform.
