Unlike some of the Western Wind's other Jewish-themed albums, this one is more religious than cultural. It features a number of phenomenal Cantors from around the U.S. appearing with the group, plus a backing chorus. Narrated by Leonard Nimoy, it's a breathtaking all a cappella (except the Shofar) introduction to (mostly Ashkenaz) music of the Jewish New Year. Some of the more intoxicating pieces are "Adonoy, Adonoy" and the Eastern European folk tune "Zochreinu." (63:21 1995)
