Another chapter in the collaboration between The Western Wind, narrator Leonard Nimoy, and Rabbi Gerald Skolnik, who scripts the narration. A Taste of Eternity part 1 deals with the Friday night service and table songs. Again the group demonstrates the truly international reach of Judaism, including pieces from Jewish communities around the western world (Sephardic "D'ror Yikra," Eastern European folk tune "Tzur Mishelo Achainu," and more). A lovely collection of beautiful singing, but highlights are Franz Schubert's "Tov L'hodos Psalm 92" and the familiar "Shalom Aleichem."
