From the liner notes: "...One of the things we tried to accomplish with this CD was to produce a sound of R&B, Motown and Pop mixture rendered in the acappella art form. This type of music in acappella is rare, so we went in that direction. Adding a vocal percussionist, we developed the old time street corner harmonies into a fuller sounding, newer 60s-70s oldies, moving everything closer to the present but still acappella."
