The Okinawa natives have a special feeling about their culture. The word Shima refers to the Okinawa islands, compared to Japan main islands. In historical passages they have feelings similar to that of minorities towards mainland Japan. These days, Okinawan songs have become very popular with many generations of Japanese.

These two songs (#2, #3) are also flavored with the feeling of Okinawa. The songs tell how precious world peace is in a metaphorical way.
