Junior A Cappella Chorus Book: ed. Olaf C. Christiansen & Carol M. Pitts (SATB Songbook)

From the book's foreword:
"This junior book has been compiled to fit the needs of schools which are undertaking unaccompanied singing for the first time, and those which have already made progress in this delightful pursuit and wish to incorporate in their repertoire truly fine examples of a cappella writing, many of them being made available for the first time in this form.
The numbers have been chosen carefully for range, with limits and capabilities of adolescent voices in mind. The tenor usually stays below F, and if it touches a G, does so by easy approach; the soprano and bass are not called upon unduly, and the alto has no extremems - in fact, the compass of all voices is quite ideal.
The text have been chosen for their interest to high-school students, and offer splendid opportunity to tie up with the teaching of Enlish poetry, history, and in the Latin numbers, with the study of Latin."
