Morten Lauridsen's two worlds define a vast dichotomy - one fed by arctic winds, with fir trees huddled in close array, its green expanse reflected in icy blue waters, and solitude the triumph of existence - the other washed with tropical breezes, shaded with dense-leaved trees and palms, a distant view to azure seas, and a cacophony of cultures and vehicles. Within each, a window on the world, a table on which to chart the future, a study lined with the markers and souvenirs of the path between them - that road untraveled except by one in his "Northwest Journey."
