Appropriately titled, "Illustrious" catalogs the Nylons career in hits, with favorites taken from a bunch of their early albums (none of the tunes here are more recent than 1993; some are as early as '83). Featuring Nylon classics like "Love Potion #9," "Up on the Roof," "Silhouettes," "Up the Ladder to the Roof" and more - all on one CD - this one's a must for any fan of the group's classic early vocal doo-wop ("Rock and Roll Lullaby" is case in point) style. Subtle drum tracks don't start until song #5 ("Silhouettes"), though they aren't as prevalent or as prominent as on their later recordings. The last four tracks, being the most recent on the album, have prominent drum track accompaniment. (45:53 1993)
