House Jacks, The: Unbroken (CD)

The long-awaited follow-up to "Drive" is here! With their own version of a "concept album" The House Jacks give us more reasons to respect and revere their song-writing and vocal capabilities! From the opening gothic-flavored introduction to "More Love", you know you're in for something different. Featuring all originals, from reflective songs of love gone wrong (the Wes Carroll original "Middle Ground" and Carroll/Bonorris title track) to carefree romps (Deke Sharon's "Adventure Day" tribute to the youthful spirit of his young son) and 80's Brit-pop "Stop and Think" (think The Clash meets Madness) this one'll have you on your feet, singing out loud and crying in your beer - though not simultaneously, of course. With the super production skills of The House Jacks themselves along with Bill Hare, you've got a formula for success that is hard to beat!

"More than any other Jacks album, this is one that had to grow on me a little bit. The studio sound is great, and the arrangements are excellent, but my only qualm was some of the digital vocal guitar effects seemed out of place somehow. Now, however, I love it, and listening to it all the way through on a long car ride or something is a great experience. "
