Will Rockapella fans enjoy this one? You bet! Altman is no longer singing lead for Rockapella, but this overdubbed solo album (with some help on the vocal percussion) sounds, well, pretty much like Rockapella (without the low bass of Barry Carl, of course)! It contains original, never before performed songs, including " Person" and innocent harmonious "Be My Friend." We liked the foot-tapping calypso beat of "I'm Waiting," the bass guitar of ballad "Pretty Baby" and the irony of lost love song "Julie Gone." "Married Man" is a rocking spoof on the institution of marriage as only Sean could do. This is likely to be Altman's last a cappella recording (he'll be pursuing a guitar singer-songwriter career), and the last batch of new a cappella material with the Altman sound. For all these reasons, plus the fact that it's great singing, we recommend this to all Rockapella fans. (63:21 1997)
