Laura Farnell has done a masterful job setting this text by the acclaimed African-American poet, Joseph Cotter. While the night wind is often characterized as having a sad or melancholy quality, Farnell has ably captured Cotter's perspective that the wind could never be sad with the shining stars and moon for companionship. A singing melody and moving harmony lines create an elegant composition.
