Schola Gregoriana Pragensis and Jiri Barta: Dialogues (CD)

Dialogues
Schola Gregoriana Pragensis is an 8-member male choir based in the Czech Republic, joined here (on tracks 6 and 11 only) by Jiri Barta (cello), Katerina Englichova (harp), David Rehof (vibraphone), and Jitka Vlasankova (cello). Tracks 4, 5, and 12 are cello solos.

From the liner notes:
This project offers the listener a novel intersection of early and new music, instrumental and vocal, scored and improvised. The interpreters who have participated in materialising this idea have not been chosen randomly. The sonorous timbre of the cello ideally knits together with the sound of the male voice, enabling a multi-layered dialogue between various timbres - between the human voice and the musical instrument - as well as a dialogue across the centuries and various creative approaches.
