The 1998 competition captured both the diversity and international nature of the a cappella movement. The winners Metropolis, a barbershop quartet from Southern California("Some Lucky Day," "Yakko's World"), were followed closely in the standings by jazz up-and-comers +4dB, who garnered Audience Favorite and Best Original Arrangement with "In A Mellow Tone." The contest also included Canadian champions and contemporary guy group the Heebee-jeebees, Australia's Acapelicans, and City Lights, the 1992 ladies' barbershop Queens of Harmony. (37:38 1998)
