The 1979 champs started in high school in 1968 and continued singing through 1986. This terrific two-CD set compiles their three LPs plus live tracks, with ample story-telling about their unique trip through barbershop history. Most of the arrangements were written by baritone Jay Giallombardo, so this recording also captures his musical progression as well as his influences. The first LP has a very "old-timey" sound on songs like "When Lindy Comes Home," although Jay's "Tonight" arrangement presages his later boundary-pushing efforts. The second LP was recorded close to their championship performance, and include the original title track as well as Hi-Lo's-inspired "Fascinatin' Rhythm" and "I Had A Dream" across the centuries (chant, Bach, Barbershop, and so forth). The third LP is post-championship, with Randy Loos on bass, on "You've Gotta Be A Fo Grandma's Boys: When the Toy Soldiers Marched on Parade (2-CD) Song List: Disc One: Tonight: Grandma's Boys When Lindy Comes Home Moonlight Brings Memories I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles Tonight Shillelagh Stick Before the Parade Passes By A Song for Mary Firefly When I Fall in Love Rose (You Made Me Love You) Grandma's Boy (Reprise)
