This Belgian sextet is like a sophisticated Backstreet Boys. Their look is cool, their sound is smooth, their arrangements are spectacular, but they have an "edge" that gives them something more unique than your average "boy band." Although huge in Belgium, and thanks to their performances with Turkish stars like Sertab Erener, all over Europe, these guys have somehow managed to fly under the US pop music "radar" - go figure! The six Marc Paelinck originals like "Colors" and "It Feels Good" are reminiscent of good 80's pop (think Steve Winwood); their collaboration with Erener on "Zor Kadin" is positively addictive with its siren-song eastern European style with bite (check out the bass/VP riffs); a cover of Sting's "Love is the Seventh Wave" is right on. Rousing Spanish "Señorita" makes it impossible to stay still (not to mention instilling sudden irrational cravings for margaritas and salsa). If you're a fan of baSix, Neri Per Caso or Flying Pickets, you will enjoy this (and all the other Voice Male) album(s). (43:54 1999/2000)
