Pop/jazz wonders m-pact have had a long, dry period without a full new recording, so this double-CD live set has been much anticipated. It's the first time m-pact's extensive jazz repertoire has been recorded, and it's appropriate that the pieces with extended improvisational solos ("All Blues," awesome "What If We Was Cool") are recorded live. The group really grooves on pop numbers like Britt Quentin original "U Need 2 No," dance cover "Boogie Oogie Oogie" and closer "Higher and Higher." The live performances have their flaws, but these are minor nits for the legions of m-pact fans who have eagerly awaited this diverse and sophisticated musical offering.(41:47, 40:13 2004)
