On this 2003 release, the brothers from the midwest went "plugged," adding instruments to their great vocal harmony sound. Why? As they say in the liner notes to the CD: "It puts us on a straight path towards commercial viability with a major record label where we can reach millions of people." Have they achieved that goal? Can't say, but the stuff on this album of covers and originals is pretty tasty, accompanied or not. And the fact that they can PLAY the instruments themselves just speaks to the level of musicianship these guys have! Take a listen to the sound files below, and see if your a cappella sensibilities are offended by the use of instruments. We bet not... (50:34 2003)
