SoVoSó has evolved their own style of collective improvisation, recorded throughout their debut album. The culturally-diverse group is chock full of talent, as each member is a soloist and composer in their own right. Joey Blake lets it rip on Curtis Mayfield's "People Get Ready," as do Nicolas Bearde and Sunshine Garcia on the infectious "Thank You," the Sly & the Family Stone R&B standard. Other members' songwriting talents are showcased in radio-worthy "Say," "Say A Prayer," and imaginative "Show Them Dance." The breadth of their repertoire also includes gospel "Down By the Riverside," and Latin original "Tú Para Mi.," with special guest Edgardo Cambón. Their magnum opus is undoubtedly "Dirt," a 20-minute showcase for their amazing improvisational talents. The piece was composed by SoVoSó and Bobby McFerrin for the Oberlin Dance Company of San Francisco, and is a unique acappella work of art. Incredible!
