For a group of dedicated singers who all have their day jobs, this is an extremely impressive recording! With six (mixed) voices plus a vocal percussionist they are able to perform a wide array of pop music, which they do with unexpected polish. "What I Like About You" has infectious swing; the overlay of "Fever" on top of "Moondance" background vocals is surprising and intriguing. They can doo-wop through "Little Bitty Pretty One" and then be cool on "Smooth Operator." The tracks are highly produced but there aren't a lot of effects beyond the opening strains of "Istanbul" - just lots of enjoyable vocal energy. (44:46 2004)
