"Superstar" is the second of two children's albums by this contemporary Christian group, billed as "Kids music that won't drive parents BONKERS!" on their web site. All songs are vocals and percussion and were recorded and mixed by The Blenders' Darren Rust, and his strong, funky, signature sound comes through loud and clear here. And I tell you what, for only three guys, they have a pretty full sound! And catchy hooks? Oh yeah. Your kids (and you) will be singing these choruses for days after listening - take "Jesus Loves Me" for example. It's got a cool little hand-jive thing goin on that will make you boogie in your seat. And speaking of 'boogie', how much catchier can you get than totally kid-friendly "The Ten Commandment Boogie"? These are kid's songs with modern-day style, without the attitude or questionable content. Classic "SkinnaMarinkyDinkyDink" is sweet and doo-woppy; "I Wanna Be" is a groovy, funky dance tune; "That Acappella Sound" will be in your Sunday School class' head for days! Pick this one up for your church youth group or your own kids - you can't go wrong!
