On this, their eighth album, Zambian Vocal Group shows just how far they've come in their evolution of musical style and ability. The opening Intro is very pop-like, and the first track even uses faux-synthesizer effects (a la Kid Rock) on the vocals. "Ambuye Yesu" uses vocal percussion pretty liberally. Spiritual favorite "Shut de Door" has a very interesting background to keep it fresh; "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms", (while sometimes rhythmically ambiguous strongly accented pronunciation notwithstanding) sounds like the soloist is channeling Elvis at times! Gary Miller (of the Acappella Company)'s "Thank You Very Much" lends another contemporary piece to the album. "He Gave Her Water" is a traditional gospel chestnut that lends itself very well to the group's warm, antiphonal sound. If you're looking for some Christian music with an African influence, this one's for you. All sounds on the album are vocally produced - there are no instruments or instrumental tracks used in the production of this music.
*Note: All money raised by the sale of Zambian Vocal Group albums are donated to building up the group's community in Africa. (35:05 2005)
