This gospel quintet has been performing for years, and although some of the personnel are more recent additions, the inspirational sounds remain the same. From the wailing lead on "Come On In This House" to the bottomless bass of "These Bones" to the jazzy chords of "There Must Be A City," this recording is packed with authentic a cappella gospel harmony. Of special interest is the participation by Elvis Costello, who wrote the liner notes and performs (with piano) a tune he wrote with Paul McCartney, "That Day Is Done" backed by the group. Another piano-accompanied tune, "Get Away Jordan" features guest soloist Pam Tillis on lead, and the recording closes with gospel fan Garrison Keillor reciting the story of the Prodigal Son while Fairfield Four sing "Amazing Grace" in the background.
