This distinctive Black quartet performed both on the gospel circuit and on the vaudeville stage. Their "moaning" harmony on "He Took My Sins Away" is particularly memorable. The vaudeville secular tunes include "Southbound Train" novelty tune "Yodel" (with an oom-pah sound, but no real yodeling). This is an important historical recording! (72:01 1995)
