This talented quartet is continuing their trend towards more music, less shtick. The humor is more subtle, on "Gimme Some Presents," a doo-wop version of "Oh Holy Night," and "Big Santa (the Visit)," a rendition of Twas the Night Before Christmas sung to the bass showcase tune of Big John. Also included are a number of enjoyable, straight performances such as haunting and unconventional "Ascending Star of Bethlehem," "Sim Shalom" and "The Coventry Carol." (36:03 1996)
