This is a handy, succinct (58 pp.) book and CD package for anyone looking to learn how to generate overtones in the style of Mongolian and Tuvan throat singers. Cope gives a basic overview of the vocal mechanism in general, then moves on to explain how to manipulate the vocal apparatus to produce the unique style of singing called 'khoomei', as well as other styles like 'Sygyt' and 'Kargyraa.' The CD includes 43 recorded exercise to use as demonstrational and instructional aids. While it doesn't claim to be the be-all, end-all in instructional materials for this subject, it is definitely a very good start.
