This 5-song EP by England's vocal pop masters The Magnets is full of catchy melodies and inspirational lyrics ("Young Voices"), danceable beats ( '80s-inspired vocal-synth pop on "Another Place") and dance club grooves (slow and sexy "Holding Out"). Techno gets a nod as well with "Better Than That." "Tinsel Town" is a heartfelt holiday tune to round out the album. All of the tunes have some measure of studio enhancement, but what holds it all together and makes it so impressive is the vocal talent and harmony behind it all. It is this talent that makes The Magnets one of the foremost contemporary vocal pop groups around. (17:53 2002)
