This 1983 release was a pop music success on several fronts.Harmony-rich "Spice of Life," with a harmonica solo byStevie Wonder, made it to both the pop and R&B charts, as did"Mystery." But it was "Why Not!" that earneda Grammy for the group, for "Best Jazz Vocal Performance,Duo or Group." However, our favorite is the mostly vocal,dense jazz piece "The Night That Monk Returned ToHeaven." (42:54 1983)
