This 80-page paperback with accompanying CD is a good place to start if you want a concise description of vocal arranging techniques and examples of what works and what doesn't. He touches on many concepts including voice ranges, effective voice-leading, rhythm, scoring and rehearsal techniques. It's got a great appendix listing common chord progressions for rock, blues and jazz, as well as a full arrangement of Al Jarreau's "Tell Me" with notes by Joyce on the arrangement process. A good introduction to arranging for voices.
