Reading through the song list for this, m-pact's fifth CD, tells you that it is largely a collection of jazz standards, but it would be wrong to consider this recording "standard" in any way. M-pact's reputation for astonishing vocal range, sophisticated arrangements, and breath-taking rides down a highway that's never solely pop, jazz or contemporary, is irrevocably established here. Britt Quentin's "You Need to Know," and the two other original songs on the CD that he co-wrote, "I Found a Love in You" and "I Thought You Cared For Me," may not yet be standards, but have all the qualities to become so. Please don't think you can't be taken new places with the old songs because m-pact will take all its listeners where they've never been before.(1:03:15 2006)
