Manhattan Transfer: Couldn't Be Hotter
Be the first to review this product
After 30 years of performing, The Manhattan Transfer can still deliver a great live show, as documented on this swinging good time recorded in Tokyo. The quartet made sure the songs here haven't previously been recorded live: "A-Tisket, A-Tasket," sultry "Sugar (That Sugar Baby O'Mine)," the sophisticated Django Reinhardt/Jon Hendricks piece "Clouds" and even a live rendition of their disco era hit, "Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone." In the era of digital production it's reassuring to hear good music this real. Featuring Yaron Gershovsky (keyboards), Tom Brechtlein (drums), Michael Bowie (bass), Wayne Johnson (guitar), Larry Klimas (tenor/soprano sax), with special guest Lewis Soloff (trumpet). (77:32 2003)
