When major label Virgin Records Sweden picked up The Real Group, they of course wanted to give the Swedish market the very best. So this recording offers something for new and old Real Group fans alike. Their new take on "Chile Con Carne" adds some vocal and body percussion zest and studio tricks to give it a drive and vibe beyond even the wonderful original recording! They re-recorded lush "Li'l Darlin'" in the studio, and added live performances of three tunes: "Kristallen Den Fina," "Man É Man" and "Granada." About the half the album is in Swedish, but it's all the best! (74:33 2001))

"Most of you have already heard the Real Group - if you haven't, you don't know what you are missing! I got this CD when on a trip to Stockholm, I managed to see them live - what a treat! They sang several of these tunes, in particular 'Ett Liv For Mig' ('A Life for Me'); musically beautiful & clearly moving. I don't understand Swedish, but people in the audience were smiling and crying at the same time. Our own group (Quintessence) purchased scores for 'A Life for me' and 'Man E Man' ('The Modern Man' - very amusing!) from the RG website, and recently sang them at a concert, to great acclaim! Many other tracks are familiar to RG fans, but the collection makes for a fascinating comparison of their range of styles, embracing everything from pop to jazz and several pieces in Swedish (think of it as accessible scat!). 'Vem Kan Segla..' features a solo by harmonica giant Toots Thielemans accompanied by the RG on vocals - lovely! Get this CD, even if you own all the others - you won't be disappointed! (Paul Jay) "
