"Stunning" and "unexpected" are just two of the many adjectives appropriate for this collaboration between The Real Group and Sweden's legendary choral director Eric Ericson. This collection of Swedish folk songs, songs by Swedish composers and Swedish hymns is aurally stunning in its simple beauty and purity, but not what longtime fans of The Real Group might expect in terms of repertoire and harmonies. Yet their exceptional musicianship under the leadership of Ericson makes them sound like they've had a career as world-class classical singers like the King's Singers. Nearly all the songs are mellow, delicate gems with sweet and haunting melodies and relatively simple harmonies - and all of them are sung in Swedish (not surprisingly!). Simply gorgeous!
