Once again, jazz genius Phil Mattson has coaxed a memorable performance from his students at The School for Music Vocations. One of the highlights for a cappella jazz fans is Mattson's exquisite arrangement of the Rodgers & Hammerstein ballad"If I Loved You" - it's the kind of song you immediately want to hear again. "Blues in the Night"slowly sizzles, and the group wrings out sweet harmony from a Real Group arrangement of "Sa Skimrande Var AldrigHavet." Five of the nine songs are lightly accompanied.
