Don't confuse this with a typical barbershop album; in fact, barbershop-style singing comprises but a fraction of the musical adventures found here! The 1994 international quartet champs open with contemporary standard "Happy Together" and along the way wring emotion out of gorgeous, jazzy "Laura," and "Moonlight In Vermont." Fabulous b-shop includes upbeat "Sudden Love," a heart-stopping "Love Me Tender" (arranged, and verse added, by David Wright) and beautiful ballad "When I Lost You." Their rendition of "We Shall Overcome" isawe-inspiring four-part harmony that defies labels. Even the cover art is different - a hologram of Mount Rushmore with heads alternatingbetween Presidents and the quartet - cool! Recommended not only for barbershop lovers, but anyone who enjoys world-class four-part men'sharmony. (35:41 2000)
