Heart of Texas Chorus: Inspiration...From the Heart (CD)

This men's barbershop chorus draws its musical inspiration from a variety of styles on this fine recording. Mixing in "Operator" with "Battle Hymn of the Republic," "There's A Meetin' Here Tonight" with contemporary marvel "All Rise" and pop "God Bless The USA" covers a lot of territory! As is typical on chorus CDs, quartets get to step up to the mic: Saturday Evening Post is great on Brian Beck's "Gospel Medley," while Sterling ("Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus"), Vanguard ("When There's Love at Home"), The Forum ("Sweet Hour of Prayer"), and several more bring their own musical inspiration. The chorus slips in two non-thematic "bonus tracks" - but with this quality singing we'll take 'em! (63:58 2005)
