This two-disc set includes fourteen both live and studio performances by black gospel greats like The Golden Gate Quartet, Birmingham Sunlights, The Stars of Harmony and more. Each track has a corresponding sheet music selection in the book. Disc two includes tutorials on singing seven favorites, like "Shine On Me," "All Night, All Day," "One Morning Soon" and "Walk in the Light." In these tutorials, Tony Backhouse first gives performance notes, then each voice part is played individually, all the way through. The last track for each song includes all parts together. Again, the vocal parts for these tracks are all included in the book. This is a great interactive resource in learning the history and technique that is inherent in the black gospel tradition.
