Right from the first chord, it is no surprise that these guys were the 1965 International Champions. They had it all: perfect tuning, perfect comedic timing, brilliant dramatic pace and four incredible voices. The sound is so perfectly balanced that every chord is a work of art in itself. This is true even on the live tracks. They even do some great doo-wop stuff. All of the tracks should be favorites but the best three are the first three: "Nervous Quartet," a wonderful musical introduction that apparently had the crowd roaring, beautiful ballad "When the World Was Young," and "Mr. Bassman," a hilarious arrangement of the doo-wop classic. It doesn't get any better than this.
