When this reviewer saw State Line Grocery for the first time (at the 2004 Dixie Harmony College), I thought, "can't wait to hear their CD." And when it arrived, it actually exceeded already high expectations! This quartet has a big, warm, rich sound that goes down as easy as a Mint Julep on a hot July day. Their repertoire spans the barbershop-jazz-gospel triangle - "A Garland of Old-Fashioned Roses," "One For My Baby" and "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" shows just a bit of the great tunes you're in for from these consummate entertainers. There's a hidden track with jokes from their performance... very funny! This is definitely a quartet to watch! (45:38 2005)
