This piece's composer, Peter De Rose, wrote many popular songs, including "When Your Hair Has Turned to Silver" and "Have You Ever Been Lonely?". Sugar-cane was written in 1929, but became part of the Barbershop repetoire in 1973, when Dealer's Choice captured the International Quartet Championship that year. This edition includes helpful performance notes.
