There are two songs from their album "Kid's Stuff" ("This Old Man," "Lavender's Blue"), highlighting the versatility and playfulness of the group (complete with sound effects in "This Old Man"). "The Gift to Be Simple" is anything but, with its syncopated rhythms and time changes. Challenges abound in the Victorian parlour songs "Charm Me Asleep," "Phyllis Is My Only Joy" and "The Long Day Closes." The group's serious side shows up in "Three Ravens," a medieval poem set in simple chorale style. A great collection to add to your repertoire. Scored mostly for SATB, some TTBB and SAB.
