The Kings' Singers continue to transform themselves with every album, choosing this time to do one of popular children's songs tied together with prose and poetry delivered skillfully by Dame Judi Dench. The group performs each of the mostly-a cappella repertoire here with creativity and an infectious sense of joy. Of note is the "Humpty Dumpty/ Old King Cole/The Grand Old Duke of York" medley, a jazzy version of "This Old Man" that will make even the most stolid snap their fingers, and "Walking in the Air" which almost makes the listener feel as if they are flying. Typical stuff from the King's Singers. Thankfully their typical stuff is brilliant. (49:53 1986)
