King's Singers, The: Irish Songbook

This latest offering in the King's Singers impressive library of sheet music pays homage to the best known folk songs of Ireland. There is, of course, "Danny Boy," done simply yet warmly, with some beautiful moving parts and lush harmonies. There's an Irish jig in the pages of "Mairi's Wedding." The lilting rhythms of "Irish Lullaby" and "Eriskay Love Lilt," with a repeated pattern to invoke the sea's rolling waves, all speak musically with melodies that are shared throughout the parts, and treated wonderfully by all. With performance notes by the King's Singers in the forward, this book is scored for SATB (divisi), with keyboard accompaniment (for rehearsal purposes only, of course!).
