This recording represents the fruits of three years of Paul Hillier's personal efforts - to collect a sampling of choral music from the countries around the Baltic Sea. Including compositions by Cyrillus Kreek (Estonia, "Psalms of David"), Arvo Pärt (Estonia, "...which was the son of..."), Einojuhani Rautavaara (Finland, "Lorca Suite"), Sven-David Sandstrøm (Sweden, "Es is genug" and "Hear My Prayer, O Lord") Veljo Tormis (Estonia, "Latvian Border Songs") and P teris Vasks (Latvia, "Dona nobis pacem"), the collection is a beautiful recording of musical treasures, performed with precision and passion by the world-renowned Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir.
