Vocal percussion? On a King's Singers album? Yes, indeed! This two-disc compilation opens with a rocking a cappella remix of Paul Simon's "Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover" featuring a cool VP groove (just one of the three Paul Simon tunes included). The first disc offers more pop stylings (the Beach Boys' "Kokomo" and "Good Vibrations," Bette Midler's "The Rose," Freddie Mercury's "Seaside Rendezvous," Billy Joel's "And So it Goes") with some more classically-styled tunes for good measure ("Chanson d'amour," "Quand tu dors près de moi" and the Spanish-flavored "Chitarra d'amor"). The second disc has more of the repertoire you'd expect from this classically-trained ensemble: Gorecki's beautiful "Totul tuus," Tallis' "Lamentations de Jérémie," Taverner's "Funeral Ikos," Schubert's "Who is Sylvia?," Brahms' "Abendlied" and more - 23 on that disc alone.
