This decidedly jazz recording is a celebration on two fronts. First, it's a 40th anniversary recording (1963-2003), embracing 40 years of jazz (composed from 1935 - "Just One Of Those Things" - to 1975 - "The Peacocks"). The opener, Miles Davis' "So What," sets the tone to cool. The second celebration is the 100th anniversary of Richard Rogers' birth, with settings of "The Lady Is A Tramp," "My Funny Valentine" and "Have You Met Miss Jones?"
